Raipur, Chhattisgarh has secured 219 investment proposals worth \u20b97.83 lakh crore across 18 sectors since November 2024, signaling a major boost to economic development and employment generation. The state government is fast-tracking the implementation of these projects, which are expected to create 1.5 lakh jobs across various districts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commerce and Industry Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan told reporters that the investments show significant geographic diversification. Tribal-dominated Bastar division accounts for 21 per cent of the proposals, while Raipur has received 33 per cent. The remaining 46 per cent are spread across Bilaspur, Durg, and Surguja divisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Around half of these investments are concentrated in priority sectors such as semiconductors and Artificial Intelligence (AI) data centre parks. Traditional industries like cement and power remain robust. Among the total proposals, 57 projects are valued at over \u20b91,000 crore each, while 34 projects are expected to generate more than 1,000 jobs each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The implementation phase has already gained momentum as nine large projects worth \u20b96,063 crore have commenced operations, providing employment to over 5,500 people. Another 109 projects are in advanced stages of construction or have completed land allocation. These are set to create 87,132 jobs across 24 districts in sectors including hospitality, healthcare, food processing, IT, and pharmaceuticals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Key projects include Polymatech\u2019s \u20b910,000 crore semiconductor factory\u2014the state\u2019s first\u2014where land allocation was completed in 45 days. Reckbank\u2019s \u20b91,000 crore AI data centre park is nearing completion, while Drools\u2019 \u20b9625 crore pet food expansion project is in trial production. Other major developments include Ultratech Cement\u2019s \u20b91,600 crore facility and Aditya Birla Group\u2019s 67.5 MW solar plant, which has already started operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said the state is transforming from a traditional iron-and-steel economy into a hub for renewable energy, food processing, and advanced healthcare. He emphasised that the government is providing comprehensive support to ensure companies start operations quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Industry Secretary Rajat Kumar attributed the surge to structural reforms, including a one-click single-window system for 132 approvals and the decriminalisation of 279 minor offences under the Jan Vishwas Act.
