The project, sanctioned under the Centre\u2019s Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2.0 at an estimated cost of \u20b9146 crore, aims to transform the historic site into a world-class spiritual and tourism destination.<br>Modelled on the lines of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor in Varanasi, the initiative seeks to preserve the 11th-century temple, often referred to as the \u2018Khajuraho of Chhattisgarh\u2019. The development plan includes the construction of six grand entry gates, a museum, a musical fountain at the temple pond, and upgraded facilities for pilgrims across the heritage circuit covering Madwa Mahal, Cherki Mahal, and Saroda Reservoir.<br>Addressing the gathering, CM Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the corridor will not only boost the state\u2019s cultural visibility but also create significant employment opportunities for local youth. He highlighted the government&#8217;s commitment to improving air and rail connectivity to the region to facilitate easier access for international and domestic tourists.<br>Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat noted that the project aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s vision of \u2018Vikas bhi, Virasat bhi\u2019 (Development along with Heritage). He praised the state government for its efforts in strengthening security and governance, which has paved the way for massive infrastructure projects in previously underserved regions.<br>Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, who represents the Kawardha constituency, termed the launch a historic milestone for the district.
