Raipur, Feb 06: President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the three-day tribal cultural festival ‘Bastar Pandum\u20132026’ in Jagdalpur on Saturday. The divisional-level event, scheduled from February 7 to February 9, aims to showcase the unique lifestyle, customs, and rich cultural legacy of the indigenous communities of the Bastar region.
The Department of Culture, Government of Chhattisgarh, is organising the festival to provide a national platform for tribal identity and heritage. The inaugural ceremony, scheduled for 11 AM at Jagdalpur, will be presided over by Governor Ramen Deka.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will attend the event as a special guest alongside Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu and Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma. State ministers Rajesh Agrawal and Kedar Kashyap will also be present at the ceremony.
This year\u2019s festival is being organised on a grand scale, featuring performances and exhibitions across 12 cultural disciplines. Young artists from the region will present traditional tribal dances, folk songs, and theatre forms. The event will also highlight indigenous crafts, tribal paintings, and the use of traditional musical instruments.
Beyond performing arts, the festival will focus on the medicinal value of forest-based herbs and local cuisines of Bastar. Public representatives, including MPs Bhojraj Nag and Mahesh Kashyap, and Jagdalpur Mayor Sanjay Pandey, will join a large number of citizens for the inaugural proceedings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
