Raipur, April 18: Chhattisgarh has secured two prestigious national awards for its excellent, transparent, and result-oriented implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY). The state was honoured as the Best Performing Large State during the National Health Authority\u2019s Chintan Shivir held in Pune, Maharashtra, on 17 and 18 April 2026.
The state received recognition in the High Trigger Efficacy category for accurate identification and effective analysis of suspicious claims. It also won in the Timely Processing of Suspicious Claims category for the quick, time-bound disposal of flagged claims, highlighting the success of the state\u2019s advanced IT-based monitoring systems and robust claim audit mechanisms.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed happiness over the achievement, stating that this national honour is proof of Chhattisgarh\u2019s transparent, accountable, and citizen-focused healthcare system. He emphasised that the government\u2019s goal is to deliver free, high-quality healthcare services to the last person in society through technology-driven monitoring and continuous reforms.
Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal credited the success to the collective efforts of healthcare workers and administrative teams. He noted that through better coordination with hospitals and transparent procedures, the quality of claim processing has improved while unnecessary delays have been reduced, ensuring beneficiaries receive smooth and quality services.
The achievement reflects the state government’s administrative efficiency and technological strength in implementing the trigger-based surveillance model.
