Raipur, May 12: Chhattisgarh has recorded an unemployment rate of 2.3 per cent, significantly lower than the national average, according to the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) 2025 released by the Union Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The data highlights the impact of the state\u2019s inclusive development policies and a robust rural economy driven by effective public welfare initiatives.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the state government is committed to providing dignified livelihoods and self-reliance to every citizen. He credited the expansion of agriculture, forest produce procurement, and small-scale enterprises for strengthening the state\u2019s economic foundation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The government\u2019s focus on grassroots empowerment has reportedly led to reduced migration and increased local entrepreneurship in rural sectors.
The state\u2019s strategy involves connecting farmers and forest dwellers with sustainable opportunities through the procurement of minor forest produce at support prices. Additionally, the promotion of self-help groups (SHGs) and micro-industries has played a vital role in the economic empowerment of youth and women across the state’s 33 districts.
Under the New Industrial Development Policy 2024\u201330, the state is witnessing a surge in investments within emerging sectors such as Information Technology (IT), food processing, textiles, and manufacturing. This policy aims to foster balanced industrial growth while ensuring that employment-oriented training aligns with the specific skills of the youth.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed confidence that transparent and citizen-centric governance would further cement Chhattisgarh’s position as a leading growth state.
