{"id":2848,"date":"2026-06-19T00:10:48","date_gmt":"2026-06-18T18:40:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsaxis.com\/?p=2848"},"modified":"2026-06-19T00:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T18:40:49","slug":"high-court-orders-immediate-deportation-of-two-uzbek-women-from-raipur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsaxis.com\/?p=2848","title":{"rendered":"High Court orders immediate deportation of two Uzbek women from Raipur"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Raipur, June 19:<\/strong>The Chhattisgarh High Court has cleared the way for the immediate repatriation of two Uzbek women who were detained in Raipur for residing in India without valid travel documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A division bench comprising Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Ravindra Kumar Agrawal disposed of a habeas corpus petition after all stakeholders, including the state government, the Union government, and the Embassy of Uzbekistan, mutually agreed on the immediate deportation of the foreign nationals. The bench observed that since all parties were in agreement, there were no grounds for further consideration of the petition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the court proceedings, representatives from the Uzbekistan Embassy requested the high court to issue necessary directions to expedite the repatriation process. Following the court&#8217;s directive, local police officials confirmed that the deportation process will be initiated at the earliest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two women, identified as Feruza Sabirova and Dinora Safutdinova, were initially detained from a private hotel in the Telibandha area of Raipur in March this year. According to official records, one of the women had overstayed the expiry of her visa, while the other did not possess a valid visa or passport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following a thorough investigation, the Telibandha police arrested both citizens in April. They were subsequently lodged in a local detention facility before being remanded to judicial custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to prison administration reports, a total of 10 foreign nationals, including the two Uzbek women, are currently lodged in the Raipur central jail premises.
