New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday that the success of 11 years of the ‘Digital India’ initiative has given the country a new identity worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PM Modi said this feat reveals the resolve of the countrymen to take the nation to new heights by embracing innovation and technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDigital India is the strong foundation of a developed and self-reliant India. Over the past 11 years, it has played a crucial role in empowering the poor and deprived, while making the lives of citizens easier,\u201d the Prime Minister said in a post on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen over a billion people embrace technology, the impact is transformative,\u201d PM Modi added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the expansion of optical fibre networks to digital transactions, the unprecedented success of this campaign has drawn the attention of the entire world towards India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cToday, we mark 11 years since the Digital India initiative was launched. This initiative has redefined governance, empowered citizens, and accelerated all-round development. It has touched every aspect of life,\u201d PM Modi emphasised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From seamless digital payments and direct benefit transfers reaching beneficiaries with transparency to the expanding digital public infrastructure, technology has become a powerful instrument for furthering \u2018Ease of Living,\u2019 said the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Digital India has taken the wave of innovation to all parts of India, especially villages, Tier 2 and 3 cities. Young entrepreneurs, startups, and innovators from every corner of the country are creating solutions to the pressing challenges that our planet faces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis initiative has strengthened education, healthcare, agriculture, commerce and public service delivery, making governance more transparent, efficient and accessible,\u201d said PM Modi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Prime Minister further stated that \u201cour strides in the digital world have ensured that India is making rapid progress in emerging technologies such as AI, semiconductors, quantum computing and more\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis will open new avenues for growth and opportunity. Our focus will remain on creating a future where technology serves humanity, empowers every citizen and drives sustainable development,\u201d PM Modi highlighted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over the past 11 years, India has built one of the world\u2019s largest Digital Public Infrastructure ecosystems. Digital platforms have expanded healthcare, education, skilling, agriculture, and welfare access, especially in rural and underserved regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
India has also emerged as a global leader in digital payments and digital governance innovation.
