Raipur, July 01: <\/strong>Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has announced that Chhattisgarh aims to emerge as India’s leading state in artificial intelligence (AI), with a strategic focus on skill development, employment generation, and citizen-centric governance. Chairing a high-level review meeting of the Electronics and Information Technology Department on Wednesday, the Chief Minister stated that AI will play a pivotal role in improving transparency and public service delivery across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The proposed Chhattisgarh AI Mission will operate on five core pillars: AI skilling, innovation and startups, awareness and outreach, responsible AI, and AI-enabled governance. Under this framework, the state government plans to establish AI laboratories, Centres of Excellence, and Data Labs, while launching AI robotics clubs and hackathons in schools to foster industry-academia collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the session, the Chief Minister reviewed the formulation of a comprehensive state AI policy aligned with national data protection norms. The roadmap includes deploying AI-based decision support systems across various government departments and expanding multilingual digital services through the Bhashini platform to make public delivery mechanisms more inclusive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reviewing digital infrastructure, officials informed the Chief Minister that nearly 1,000 mobile towers funded under the Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN) have been installed over the past two-and-a-half years. An additional 577 towers have received administrative approval, with land allocation already finalized for 406 locations, while the remaining 171 sites will be cleared within a month. Furthermore, under BharatNet Phase-III, 4,114 gram panchayats will be connected through a modern ring-topology network to expand Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Minister also evaluated the performance of the Sewa Setu portal, which currently provides 520 services across 36 departments through a network of over 16,700 service centres. Since 1 April 2025, the portal has processed more than 39.75 lakh applications with a disposal rate of 94.3 per cent, backed by digital upgrades including QR-based verification, biometric authentication, and DigiLocker integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The high-level meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Rahul Bhagat, and Electronics and IT Secretary Ankit Anand, alongside other senior officials.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
