Raipur, July 10 :<\/strong>The Chhattisgarh government has issued transfer and posting orders for 24 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, executing a major reshuffle across key districts, regional ranges, state police headquarters (PHQ), and armed battalions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the bureaucratic overhaul, Ajay Kumar Yadav (2004 batch), Director of the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose State Police Academy, Chandkhuri, has been appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) of the Rajnandgaon range. He replaces Balaji Rao Somawar (2007 batch), who has been moved to the Police Headquarters in Nava Raipur as Inspector General.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prashant Kumar Agrawal (2008 batch), previously IGP of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) in the Bastar region, has also been transferred to Nava Raipur PHQ. Meanwhile, several districts received new Superintendents of Police (SP). Chandramohan Singh (2014 batch) takes charge as SP Dantewada, while Gaurav Rampravesh Rai (2019 batch) moves from Dantewada to take over as SP Balodabazar-Bhatapara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In other key district postings, Sunil Sharma (2017 batch) has been appointed SP Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, and Jitendra Kumar Yadav (2018 batch) moves from Bijapur to take charge as SP Kabirdham. Chavhan Kiran Gangaram (2018 batch) is the new SP of Balod, shifting from Sukma, while Yogesh Kumar Patel (2018 batch) moves from Balod to take over as SP Surajpur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The security apparatus in the Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected Bastar division saw major structural changes at the SP level. Umesh Prasad Gupta (2020 batch), previously Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central, Raipur Urban, takes over as SP Bijapur. His batchmate Mayank Gujjar (2020 batch), moving from DCP North, Raipur Urban, has been appointed SP Sukma. Sandeep Kumar Patel (2020 batch) shifts from DCP West, Raipur Urban, to become SP Narayanpur, while the outgoing Narayanpur SP Robinson Guriya (2020 batch) takes over his former profile as DCP West in Raipur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Bhavna Pandey has been posted as SP Dhamtari, moving from the PHQ Special Branch, while Harish Rathore, previously handling Chief Minister’s Security, has been appointed SP Koriya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the administrative level, senior officers Prashant Kumar Thakur (2011 batch), Ramkrishna Sahu (2012 batch), and Rajesh Kukreja (2004 batch) have been posted as Deputy IGs at the Police Headquarters. Dharmendra Chhabai (2012 batch) takes charge as Commandant of the 8th Battalion CAF in Rajnandgaon, Shweta Rajmani (2012 batch) becomes Deputy IG CAF Jagdalpur, and Suraj Singh Parihar (2015 batch) moves to head the 4th Battalion CAF in Mana, Raipur. Trilok Bansal (2016 batch) has been posted as SP Bemetara, while Bhavna Gupta (2014 batch) and Ravi Kumar Kurre (2014 batch) join Nava Raipur PHQ as Assistant Superintendents of Police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
