{"id":3263,"date":"2026-07-29T23:18:07","date_gmt":"2026-07-29T17:48:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsaxis.com\/?p=3263"},"modified":"2026-07-29T23:18:07","modified_gmt":"2026-07-29T17:48:07","slug":"chhattisgarh-on-flood-alert-after-heavy-rain-swells-rivers-cm-sai-orders-round-the-clock-vigil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsaxis.com\/?p=3263","title":{"rendered":"Chhattisgarh on flood alert after heavy rain swells rivers, CM Sai orders round-the-clock vigil"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Raipur, July 29: <\/strong>Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has directed all district collectors and senior officials to remain on high alert and ensure immediate relief as continuous monsoon rains cause major rivers and streams across the state to swell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With water levels rising rapidly in low-lying areas, local authorities in several affected districts have ordered the closure of schools as a precautionary measure to ensure student safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emphasising that the state administration is closely monitoring the situation round the clock, Sai said disaster management teams are fully prepared to respond to any emerging flood emergency and ensure prompt assistance reaches affected citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking to reporters in Raipur, the Chief Minister also announced his schedule to depart for New Delhi tonight, where a delegation from the Manjhi, Chalki, and Muria tribal communities will meet President Droupadi Murmu. The delegation represents key traditional custodians of Bastar Dussehra, widely recognized as the world&#8217;s longest tribal festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier in the day, Sai visited Raigarh and extended greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Guru Purnima.
