The celebrations began with Gauri-Ganesh and Navagraha worship, followed by the Abhishek of the Shivling and worship of traditional farming tools, including the plough, pickaxe, and spade. The Chief Minister also visited the cowshed, performed Aarti, and fed cows traditional fodder, gram, jaggery, and ‘Londi’, a custom associated with livestock health.

Addressing the gathering, Sai emphasised the festival’s connection with agriculture and nature, stating that Hareli reflects the state’s deep respect for land, livestock, and the environment. He highlighted state government initiatives for farmers, including zero-interest cooperative agricultural loans, expansion of irrigation facilities, crop insurance coverage, and modern technology adoption. He reaffirmed that the state is procuring paddy at ₹3,100 per quintal, up to 21 quintals per acre.

Highlighting agricultural mechanisation and women’s empowerment, the Chief Minister handed over a ₹16-lakh harvester subsidy cheque to a Raipur-based farmer, Indra Kumar Verma. He also interacted with ‘Drone Didi’ Chandrakali Verma, who uses agricultural drones for spraying nano urea, nano DAP, and pesticides. She earns ₹300 per acre and has covered over 2,500 acres, earning around ₹7 lakh over two years.

During the event, the Chief Minister distributed Arhar and Urad seed mini-kits to farmers and visited stalls displaying natural farming products alongside modern machinery. Traditional Chhattisgarhi games such as Gedi, Billas, Goti, and Bati, along with local folk dances and traditional delicacies including Thethri, Khurmi, and Bada, added to the festive atmosphere. Sai later joined local artists to dance to traditional folk tunes.

As part of the festival’s environmental initiative, Sai and Raman Singh planted Parijat saplings on the premises, urging citizens to nurture trees for long-term survival rather than just planting them. Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, along with cabinet ministers, MLAs, senior officials, farmers, and folk artists, attended the function.

Raipur, Aug 12: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday performed rituals worshipping Lord Shiva, Gau-mata, and agricultural implements at his Nava Raipur residence to mark Hareli Tihar, the […]

[9,20

post-3419","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-chhattisgarh","category-display","has_thumb
["GET
