Raipur, Sep 20:<\/strong>\u00a0The Chhattisgarh government has issued administrative approval worth \u20b97.29 crore under Mission AMRUT 2.0 to construct three modern urban eco-parks across Ahwara, Mungeli, and Kanker municipalities to boost green cover and expand public health and recreational amenities across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Urban Administration and Development Department granted the administrative approval of \u20b97,29,24,000 for the green infrastructure drive, which will be executed under the direct guidance of Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao. Construction is scheduled for completion within a strict one-year timeline, with a mandatory five-year maintenance and operations contract assigned to the executing agencies to preserve infrastructure quality and civic facilities long after completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai confirmed that developing clean, sustainable, and well-equipped public spaces remains a core priority for the state government. He emphasized that these green spaces will serve all age groups by integrating open-air gyms for youth, walking pathways for senior citizens, dedicated play zones for children, gazebos, and rainwater harvesting structures to actively support groundwater recharge in expanding urban centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative involves planting a total of 8,732 saplings across the three project sites. In Ahwara municipality, a modern park spanning 0.52 acres will be built near the Shitala Temple area in Ward No. 01 at a cost of \u20b92.07 crore (\u20b92,07,48,000). The facility will feature 2,115 saplings, solar illumination setups, open gyms, children’s play units, walking tracks, toilet blocks, gazebos, and integrated water conservation pits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The largest project under this sanction will cover 3.08 acres at Maharana Pratap Ward in Pendrakampa, Mungeli, backed by an allocation of \u20b93.52 crore (\u20b93,52,32,000). About 4,453 saplings will be planted alongside the development of exercise tracks, play infrastructure, public conveniences, gazebos, and extensive rainwater retention structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Kanker, a facility spread across 0.72 acres in Ward No. 09, Shri Ram Nagar, will be constructed at an investment of \u20b91.69 crore (\u20b91,69,44,000). The site will house 2,164 saplings, solar lighting, open-air fitness equipment, pathways, toilet blocks, and rain retention pits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Underlining the long-term sustainability of the projects, Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration Minister Arun Sao affirmed that the five-year operation clause ensures sustained maintenance rather than temporary asset creation.
