He pointed out that the leadership of the Election Commission confirmed all major decisions, including the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), were taken with unanimous consent. He added that the Supreme Court had already upheld the legal validity of the process in May 2026, rendering the allegations baseless.

Chief Minister Sai dismissed media reports suggesting internal discord within the panel, clarifying that a reported letter to the Cabinet Secretary involved routine administrative matters rather than policy decisions or electoral revisions. He emphasised that the Election Commission operates with complete independence and remains accountable directly to the President of India.

Highlighting contradictions in the opposition’s stance, the Chief Minister targeted Rahul Gandhi’s past criticisms of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). He noted that the Congress currently holds power in multiple states, boasting over 600 state legislators and 99 Lok Sabha members elected through the exact same voting process. In Chhattisgarh alone, the party maintains 35 seats won via EVMs, following a landslide victory in 2018 under the same system. Sai questioned whether Congress lawmakers considered their own elections illegitimate, urging them to reflect on the double standard of trusting the process only when victorious.

The Chief Minister further criticized Rahul Gandhi for making statements that damage the global standing of the country. He cited instances where Gandhi questioned the independence of the Supreme Court while speaking abroad, alongside past remarks concerning military operations such as the surgical strikes.

Concluding his address, Chief Minister Sai warned that the public continues to observe these tactics, adding that persistent attacks on democratic foundations would only result in the further erosion of public trust in the Congress.

Raipur, Sep 27: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday demanded an unconditional apology from Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi to the nation and the Election Commission of India, […]

[9,20

post-3960","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-chhattisgarh","category-display","has_no_thumb
["GET
