CM Sai marks two years with major gains in welfare, farmer support, security, and infrastructure

Raipur, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday presented the state government’s two-year report card, highlighting major achievements across public welfare, agriculture, security, and infrastructure. Speaking at a press conference held at the New Circuit House in Civil Lines, CM Sai asserted that the government has fulfilled its responsibility with dedication, strengthening public trust placed in the leadership and guarantees of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The government prioritised public welfare immediately after assuming office. On the second day of its formation, approval for homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was provided to more than 18 lakh needy families.
The CM highlighted the Mahtari Vandan Yojana as a historic step for women’s empowerment, with nearly 70 lakh women receiving monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000. So far, a total of ₹14,306 crore has been transferred directly into their accounts (DBT) in 22 instalments.
Welfare for tribal communities has been strengthened by increasing the remuneration for tendu leaf collection from ₹4,000 to ₹5,500 per standard bag, benefitting 13 lakh families. The Charanpaduka Yojana has also been revived, and 73 lakh poor families are receiving free ration.
Paddy procurement for farmers is continuing at the rate of ₹3,100 per quintal for 21 quintals per acre, making agriculture a profitable occupation for the state’s farmers.
For the youth, the government has ensured a transparent recruitment system. The investigation into the PSC scam has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). An annual examination calendar has been introduced, age limits have been relaxed, and recruitment for more than 32,000 posts is currently underway.
CM Sai announced a decisive campaign against Maoism. Over the last two years, 505 Naxalites have been neutralised, 2,386 have surrendered, and 1,901 have been arrested. He stated that Bastar is being strengthened through simultaneous efforts in security and development.
Under the Niyyad Nella Nar scheme, essential facilities such as ration, Aadhaar cards, Ayushman cards, housing, electricity, and roads have been extended to remote villages in the region. Schools have been reopened in Bastar, and initiatives like eco-tourism, Bastar Pandum, and the Bastar Olympics are shaping a new identity for the area.
Cultural and religious heritage is being preserved through the Shri Ram Lalla Ayodhya Dham Darshan Yojana and the Chief Minister Teerth Darshan Yojana. The Rajim Kumbh Kalpa, Bastar Dussehra, and Shakti Peethas are also being developed with renewed grandeur.
Over 400 reforms have been implemented to strengthen good governance. Monitoring of schemes has been improved through the Good Governance and Convergence Department, the Atal Monitoring Portal, e-Office, and digital governance systems.
A new industrial policy has been implemented to boost trade and industry, with 231 provisions decriminalised and the Public Trust Act enacted. The state has received investment proposals worth ₹7.83 lakh crore. Additionally, logistics parks, air cargo facilities, and industrial parks have been developed.
GST collections have increased by 15 per cent, reaching ₹23,454 crore. Increased e-way bill limits, 24×7 operations permissions, and district-level GST offices have provided major relief to traders.
CM Sai said that the ‘double-engine government’ has enabled unprecedented expansion in road, rail, expressway, industrial, and social infrastructure. Rail projects worth more than ₹47,000 crore are underway, and the Kharsia-Parmalkasa rail line has been approved. Work on the Visakhapatnam–Ranchi expressway is progressing rapidly, and 37 national highway projects worth over ₹18,000 crore are under development.
Air connectivity has expanded with the inauguration of Ambikapur Airport by the Prime Minister, and new flights starting from Bilaspur, Jagdalpur, and Ambikapur.
