Raipur to get ₹175-cr electric locomotive homing facility, CM Sai thanks PM
RAIPUR, July 10 : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for approving a ₹175-crore project to develop additional homing facilities for 250 electric locomotives in Raipur.
Chief Minister Sai said that railway infrastructure in Chhattisgarh is being strengthened at an unprecedented pace under the double-engine government. He described the project approved by the Centre as a significant milestone towards modernising the state’s railway network.
The Chief Minister noted that the initiative will substantially enhance the maintenance capacity for electric locomotives in Raipur. It will also improve the efficiency of both freight and passenger transportation while streamlining overall railway operations to meet future demands.
Chief Minister Sai expressed confidence that the project will help establish Chhattisgarh as a premier railway, industrial, and logistics hub. He added that the infrastructure upgrade will accelerate the state’s development goals in alignment with the ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ vision.
