Raipur, July 12: The Chhattisgarh government’s decision to offer a 50 per cent rebate on property registration fees for women has led to a 45 per cent surge in asset deeds registered in their names, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said on Sunday. The fiscal intervention has passed on a direct financial benefit of ₹50.14 crore to citizens across the state.

According to data released by the Registration and Stamps Department, a comparative analysis between 6 May and 30 June 2026 against the corresponding period last year revealed that the share of sale deeds registered exclusively in women’s names rose from 32 per cent to 41 per cent. Total property registration documents executed by women increased from 14,668 to 21,292 during this period.

Nearly 75 per cent of the state’s districts recorded an annual growth of over 20 per cent in women-led property registrations. Districts charting the highest growth trajectories include Janjgir-Champa, Balod, Koriya, Raipur, and Kanker.

Chief Minister Sai emphasized that accelerating women’s property ownership is a structural step toward social justice and inclusive development. He noted that the initiative enhances grassroot economic security while systematically strengthening the decision-making role of women within families and broader society.

Finance and Commercial Tax (Registration) Minister O.P. Choudhary stated that the sharp rise in registrations reflects a positive socio-economic transformation. He added that the 50 per cent fiscal concession was intentionally structured to expand asset ownership among women while maintaining a transparent, citizen-centric, and inclusive revenue registration framework.
