Raipur, Jyly 13: Chhattisgarh Tourism achieved a significant national milestone by winning the “Best Decoration of Stall and Appearance” award at the Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) Kolkata 2026. The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board received the honour for its creative and impactful pavilion among 21 participating states, successfully projecting the state’s rich tribal heritage, cultural attractions, natural destinations, and modern tourism vision.

Held from 10 to 12 July at the Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan in Kolkata, the three-day tourism fair saw the Chhattisgarh pavilion emerge as a major attraction for visitors, tour operators, tourism professionals, and investors. The pavilion showcased Bastar’s tribal culture, Chitrakote and Tirathgarh waterfalls, Kanger Valley National Park, Sirpur, Bhoramdeo, religious and eco-tourism destinations, and the state’s diverse tourism circuits through modern interactive presentations.

Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Chairman Neelu Sharma, Tourism Secretary S. Bharathidasan, and Managing Director Vivek Acharya participated in several business-to-business (B2B) meetings with national and international tour operators, travel agencies, hotel groups, and investors during the event. Discussions focused on tourism investment, joint travel packages, marketing partnerships, expansion into new tourism markets, and increasing tourist footprints across the state.

Nearly 28 registered tour operators, hotel owners, homestay operators, and tourism entrepreneurs from Chhattisgarh and other states also participated in the event, utilizing the platform to showcase regional tourism products and forge new corporate partnerships.

During the inaugural session, Goa Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte, Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj, West Bengal Tourism Minister Dr Shankar Ghosh, and Consul General of Thailand Ms Siriporn Tantipanyathep visited the Chhattisgarh pavilion and appreciated the state’s natural beauty, tribal culture, and religious heritage.

Chairman Neelu Sharma stated that the award reflects the state’s growing tourism profile under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Tourism and Culture Minister Rajesh Agrawal. Tourism Secretary S. Bharathidasan added that sustained promotion at national and international platforms will boost investment and employment, while Managing Director Vivek Acharya described the recognition as a result of collective stakeholder efforts to establish Chhattisgarh as a leading travel destination.
