Raipur, Aug 09: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will unfurl the National Flag and take the salute at the state-level Independence Day celebrations at the Police Parade Ground in Raipur on August 15.

Announcing the flag hoisting schedule for the 80th Independence Day, the General Administration Department (GAD) confirmed that key dignitaries, including Union ministers, deputy chief ministers, state cabinet ministers, MPs, and MLAs, will preside over official celebrations across district headquarters.

Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu will unfurl the Tricolour in Bilaspur, while Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma will lead celebrations in Durg and Bastar districts, respectively. Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh will hoist the National Flag at the Rajnandgaon district headquarters.

State Cabinet Ministers scheduled to preside over celebrations in key districts include Ramvichar Netam in Surguja, Dayaldas Baghel in Mahasamund, Kedar Kashyap in Dantewada, Lakhan Lal Dewangan in Kabirdham, Shyam Bihari Jaiswal in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, O.P. Choudhary in Raigarh, Tank Ram Verma in Kanker, Laxmi Rajwade in Surajpur, Guru Khushwant Saheb in Janjgir-Champa, Rajesh Agrawal in Jaspur, and Gajendra Yadav in Balod.

Senior parliamentarians and legislators will also lead events across the remaining districts. MP Brijmohan Agrawal will hoist the flag in Balodabazar, MP Vijay Baghel in Bemetara, and MP Santosh Pandey in Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai. Other parliamentarians designated for district ceremonies include Bhojraj Nag (Kondagaon), Chintamani Maharaj (Balrampur), Radheshyam Rathiya (Sarangarh-Bilaigarh), Roopkumari Choudhary (Gariyaband), Kamlesh Jangde (Sakti), Mahesh Kashyap (Bijapur), Rajya Sabha MP Devendra Pratap Singh (Sukma), and Rajya Sabha MP Laxmi Verma (Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki).

At the district headquarters, MLAs Amar Agrawal (Korba), Ajay Chandrakar (Dhamtari), Dharamjeet Singh (Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi), Punnulal Mohle (Mungeli), Bhaiyyalal Rajwade (Korea), and Lata Usendi (Narayanpur) will unfurl the flag. All designated chief guests will read Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s Independence Day message to the public during their respective district ceremonies.
