Raipur, Sep 11: Union Agriculture, Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 38 development projects worth over ₹121.70 crore in Sakti district.

At a public programme held in Jetha village, the two leaders dedicated 15 completed projects constructed at a cost of ₹42.46 crore and performed bhoomipujan for 23 new projects valued at ₹79.25 crore. The developmental works encompass road connectivity, educational infrastructure, healthcare facilities, security installations, administrative buildings, and rural amenities.

Key projects for which foundation stones were laid include a 22-km road from Devarghata to Sapia Naharpar via Bartunga, Tulsidih, Anda, and Charoda, being built at ₹25.82 crore. Another major project, costing ₹15.30 crore, entails the widening and renovation of the 12-km stretch connecting Chhuhipali to Semradih via Katekoni Bade-Karrakhai and Thakurpali.

Bhoomipujan was also performed for road infrastructure connecting Andi-Kirkar-Jagmahan to Satbahiniya, Nagjhar to Nawapara, and Gureradiha Kirari to Kesla main road.

In the education and skill sector, foundation stones were laid for a new building of the Government Girls’ College in Sakti, an extension block at Bedram Government College in Malkharoda, and a new Livelihood Institute facility.

Healthcare and community infrastructure projects include sub-health centre buildings across multiple villages and dedicated Mahtari Sadan centers for women.

Major completed projects dedicated to the public included a ₹14.35-crore road connecting Kalmi Naharpar to Belhadih via Chikhli, Chhotekot, Badekot, and Singhra in the Malkharoda block. Additionally, a ₹11.35-crore road project from Devarghata to the Oderkera main road—featuring new bridges and culverts—along with the Bundeli-Adbhar road, was officially inaugurated.

Other completed infrastructure inaugurated during the ceremony included solar dual pumps under the Jal Jeevan Mission, new tehsil office complexes in Chandrapur and Hasoud, police station buildings in Dabhra, Chandrapur, and Jaijaipur, an outpost in Adbhar, the Sulauni High School building, the Gopalpur training centre, and a Mahtari Sadan at Gobra.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu, Skill Development Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb, Janjgir-Champa MP Kamlesh Jangde, and several local public representatives attended the event.
