Centre clears ₹22.50-cr first installment for Nava Raipur electronics cluster
Raipur, In a major boost to electronics and IT manufacturing in Chhattisgarh, the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has approved the release of the first installment of ₹22.50 crore for a Common Facility Centre (CFC) in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. The funding for the project, located in Sector-22, has been sanctioned under the Modified Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMC 2.0) scheme.
The project is being implemented by the Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Development Authority (NRANVP). Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) has been entrusted with the evaluation and monitoring of the project and had recommended the release of the funds.
The approval marks a significant step towards developing Nava Raipur as a hub for electronics manufacturing and IT hardware. The CFC will offer shared infrastructure, technical and testing facilities, and innovation support services to industries, aimed at boosting investment and generating employment for local youth.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai described the Union Government’s decision as a milestone in the state’s industrial and technological growth. He said Chhattisgarh is steadily advancing towards the goals of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India’, adding that developing Nava Raipur as a technology-driven city remains a key priority.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the CFC under the EMC 2.0 scheme would strengthen investor confidence and contribute to the vision of a ‘Viksit Chhattisgarh’. He extended his gratitude to the Central Government and MeitY for the timely support.
