Raipur, Sep 03: Chhattisgarh health authorities have stepped up testing and treatment arrangements across the state after recording 152 swine flu (H1N1) cases and two Covid-19 cases. Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said the situation remains under control and urged citizens not to panic while maintaining vigilance against infection.

Out of the 152 swine flu patients detected across the state, 114 have recovered following treatment, while 38 active cases are undergoing medical care. Two Covid-19 cases have also been confirmed through routine surveillance.

The state government has made adequate arrangements for diagnostic testing and isolation facilities at Dr B R Ambedkar Memorial Hospital (Mekahara) and various district hospitals. Jaiswal noted that prior Covid-19 vaccination coverage has provided substantial immunity to the general population against severe illness.

Health authorities have urged residents to avoid self-medication and seek immediate medical evaluation at nearby government hospitals if they experience fever, cough, body ache, or respiratory distress.
