Pakhanjore (Kanker 16 January 2025), Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday asserted that the Bastar region is poised for comprehensive development as Naxalism nears its end in the state. Speaking at a public event in Pakhanjore, Kanker district, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth ₹284 crore.
In a significant move for the local community, CM Sai announced that Bengali language education will be introduced in primary schools across 135 villages of the Bang Samaj starting from the new academic session. Other major announcements included the construction of a road from Sambalpur to Pakhanjore via Durgukondal, the establishment of a Dhanwantari Generic Medical Store at Pakhanjore Civil Hospital, and the commencement of fire brigade services in the town.
Reiterating the state government’s commitment to “Modi ki Guarantee,” the Chief Minister highlighted that 18 lakh houses have been sanctioned under the PM Awas Yojana within two years, with 8 lakh beneficiaries already moving into their new homes. He also noted that 70 lakh women are benefiting from the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, while the state continues to purchase paddy at ₹3,100 per quintal.
During his visit, the Chief Minister offered prayers at the Nar Narayan Seva Ashram and paid floral tributes to the statue of Shaheed Gaind Singh, the revolutionary leader of the Paralkot rebellion. The event was attended by Kanker MP Bhojraj Nag, Antagarh MLA Vikram Deo Usendi, and several other senior officials and public representatives.
