Raipur, May 29: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has welcomed the Union Government’s release of a ‘Mother Sanction’ worth over ₹10,021 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) across 12 states, including Chhattisgarh, describing it as a decisive step toward eliminating rural homelessness.
The Chief Minister stated that the landmark financial approval reflects the commitment of the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to fulfill the pledge of providing a permanent house with basic amenities to every economically weaker family.
According to Chief Minister Sai, the financial package will provide fresh momentum to the state’s ongoing rural housing mission, accelerating project execution and enabling thousands of rural households across Chhattisgarh to construct permanent, secure dwellings.
Highlighting the structural impact of the flagship programme, Chief Minister Sai noted that PMAY-G functions as a transformative socio-economic initiative rather than a basic housing scheme. For marginalized families, a permanent brick-and-mortar home serves as a vital foundation for long-term security, social dignity, and an elevated quality of life. He added that the newly approved assistance would ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive financial disbursements in a time-bound, transparent manner.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the ‘Double Engine’ administration—the coordinated governance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at both the Centre and the State—is systematically working to clear bottlenecks so that basic infrastructure reaches the last person in the queue.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister Sai reiterated that the fresh capital infusion would significantly strengthen the cooperative frameworks required to scale up rural infrastructure. State administrative officials added that local blocks have been instructed to prioritize data validation to ensure seamless transmission of cash benefits directly into beneficiary accounts.
