Raipur, (VW) July 23: Chhattisgarh’s Electronics and Information Technology Department is leveraging digital innovations to strengthen good governance and streamline public service delivery across the state, Electronics and Information Technology Secretary Ankit Anand said on Thursday.

Addressing a joint press conference alongside CHiPS Chief Executive Officer Mayank Agarwal at the Chhattisgarh Samvad Auditorium in Atal Nagar, Nava Raipur, Anand stated that Chhattisgarh is emerging as a pioneer in technology-driven governance under Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. He highlighted that integrated initiatives like Seva Setu, BharatNet expansion, artificial intelligence (AI) deployment, and enhanced digital connectivity are providing seamless, accessible services to citizens.

Detailing the impact of Seva Setu, the state’s unified digital platform, Anand noted that an upgraded version launched on 29 April 2026 currently hosts 564 services across 35 departments. Over the past two and a half years, the portal received over 85 lakh applications and resolved more than 78 lakh requests. Essential rural services—including ration cards, marriage registrations, and tap water connections—are now available near citizens’ homes, supported by digital document verification, QR-code authentication, automated SMS/WhatsApp alerts, and online payments.

Highlighting digital reach in remote and tribal areas, Anand stated that 1,273 mobile towers have been commissioned since January 2024 under the central Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN) scheme, covering aspirational districts, LWE-affected regions, and 4G saturation zones. Under BharatNet Phase-III, Gram Panchayats will be connected via high-speed broadband and Fiber to the Home (FTTH) networks, supported by a ₹3,928 crore allocation from the Central Government.

To nurture local talent, the administration launched the CM IT Fellowship program in partnership with the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Nava Raipur. Under state reservation norms, 50 selected local candidates undergo advanced technical training and gain practical experience across various government departments to build a dedicated cadre of IT experts.

Reviewing key digital platforms, Anand disclosed that the Khanij Online 2.0 portal generated ₹30,311.80 crore in revenue between January 2024 and June 2026. Other operational platforms include the Integrated Waste Management System (IWMMS) for monitoring industrial waste disposal, the One-Click Single Window System 2.0 integrating 151 services across 19 departments for investor approvals, the PARAS portal for tracking major infrastructure projects, and the Bastar
