Raipur, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday asserted that the GST reforms have brought about a historic transformation in the economic sector, directly benefiting the common people across the country.
The Chief Minister was addressing the GST 2.0 Reforms “Dhanyawad Modi Ji” programme organised by the Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Raipur Division, at the Medical College Auditorium in Raipur. On the occasion, he also felicitated state-based Padma Shri awardees and national-level sports players.
CM Sai described the GST reforms as a “historic and bold decision” taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He highlighted that the reduction in GST rates has brought relief to 140 crore Indians and reduced kitchen budgets for homemakers and prices of farm equipment for farmers.
“I am personally visiting people to understand the benefits of the GST rate cuts. Recently, when I visited a mart to meet families purchasing daily essentials, homemakers told me that these reforms had reduced their kitchen budgets,” the Chief Minister stated. He added that at a tractor showroom, he was informed that tractor prices had been lowered by ₹65,000 to ₹1 lakh due to the rate cuts.
Highlighting the role of entrepreneurs, CM Sai said traders will play a crucial role in building a developed Chhattisgarh. He mentioned that the state’s new industrial policy has been well-received by investors. During his recent visits to Japan and Korea, several Asian investors expressed keen interest in investing in Chhattisgarh, which is expected to generate significant employment opportunities.
Member of Parliament Brijmohan Agrawal said the GST reforms introduced by Prime Minister Modi are unprecedented and are empowering the common man while strengthening the national economy.
CM Sai honoured numerous Padma Shri awardees and national players for their distinguished contributions to society. Those felicitated included John Martin Nelson, Dr. Radheshyam Barle, Smt. Usha Barle, Dr. Pukhraj Bafna, Smt. Phoolbasan Bai Yadav, Smt. Shamshad Begum, Dr. Bharti Bandhu, Anuj Sharma, Madan Singh Chauhan, Saba Anjum, Ajay Kumar Mandavi, Hemchand Manjhi, Pandi Ram, Jageshwar Yadav, Rajendra Prasad, Rajesh Chauhan and Neeta Dumre.
Also present were MP Rupkumari Choudhary, MLAs Purandar Mishra and Motilal Sahu, along with the Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Civil Supplies Corporation Sanjay Srivastava, and other office bearers of the Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
