Nitin Nabin appointed BJP National Working President; PM Modi congratulates him

Raipur/Patna/New Delhi, The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday appointed Bihar Cabinet Minister Nitin Nabin as the party’s National Working President with immediate effect. The decision by the BJP Parliamentary Board comes as the party deliberates on a full-time national president following the conclusion of current chief J.P. Nadda’s term. BJP National General Secretary and Headquarters In-charge Arun Singh formally communicated the appointment through an organisational order.
The top leadership has entrusted this crucial interim responsibility to Nabin, a five-time MLA from the Bankipur Assembly constituency in Patna. He currently serves as the Road Construction and Urban Development and Housing Minister in the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government. The move is viewed as a strategic step to strengthen the party’s organisation at both the national level and in Bihar.
Nabin’s elevation is a recognition of his successful role in spearheading the BJP’s organisational and electoral efforts in Chhattisgarh, where the party registered a significant victory. The leadership cited his extensive organisational experience, strong grassroots connect, and proven administrative capabilities as key factors behind the appointment.
Born on May 23, 1980, Nitin Nabin is the son of senior Bihar BJP leader Naveen Kishore Prasad Sinha. He entered the Bihar Legislative Assembly in 2006 and has secured consecutive victories since shifting to Bankipur, defeating RJD candidate Rekha Kumari in the Assembly elections held last month.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Nitin Nabin on his appointment, expressing confidence that his energy and dedication would further strengthen the party. In a post on X, the Prime Minister described Nabin as a committed and hardworking karyakarta with a strong organisational background.
“Shri Nitin Nabin ji has distinguished himself as a hardworking karyakarta. He is a young and industrious leader with rich organisational experience and an impressive record as an MLA as well as a minister in Bihar for multiple terms,” PM Modi said. “I am confident that his energy and dedication will strengthen our party in the times to come.”
Regarded as one of the youngest leaders to be elevated to the BJP’s national leadership, his appointment signals the party’s emphasis on capable, energetic leadership and a generational shift within its organisational structure.
