Narayanpur, Jan 30: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday released the 24th instalment of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, transferring ₹641.34 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 68 lakh women across Chhattisgarh. The funds were disbursed via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) during a state-level programme held in Narayanpur.
With this latest payout, the Chhattisgarh government has so far transferred a total of ₹15,595.77 crore to eligible beneficiaries since the scheme’s inception. Chief Minister Sai stated that the initiative has given a “new dimension” to women’s empowerment in the state by ensuring financial independence and transparency.
Prior to this instalment, the state had already disbursed ₹14,954.42 crore through 23 previous cycles. In Narayanpur district alone, ₹2.72 crore was credited to the accounts of 27,272 women during Friday’s event. The Chief Minister emphasised that the monthly assistance is a testament to the government’s commitment to uplifting women in both rural and urban areas.
The event saw the presence of Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Higher Education Minister Tank Ram Verma, and several local public representatives. The scheme continues to be a cornerstone of the state’s welfare agenda, focusing on improving the socio-economic status of married women through regular financial support.
