Raipur, May 15: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair the 26th meeting of the Central Zonal Council in Bastar on 19 May to discuss regional cooperation and development. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai reviewed the preparations for the high-level event at Mahanadi Bhawan on Friday, directing officials to ensure seamless coordination for the visiting dignitaries.
The meeting will see the participation of Chief Ministers from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Chhattisgarh. During the review session, officials presented a detailed PowerPoint briefing on various issues the state government proposes to raise during the council discussions.
Chief Minister Sai assigned specific responsibilities to senior administrative officers, emphasizing that the event must be executed with high administrative efficiency. He noted that the Central Zonal Council serves as an “excellent model of cooperation,” highlighting that there are currently no disputes among the member states.
The Chief Minister remarked that hosting a national-level meeting in Bastar is a significant milestone, reflecting the restoration of peace and stability in the region. He stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the region is transitioning from the shadow of Naxalism to a “new path of growth.”
“Strong states build a strong nation,” the Chief Minister said, adding that regional councils have become effective platforms for strengthening the federal structure. He expressed confidence that the meeting, held on the banks of the Indravati River, would provide fresh momentum to the developmental transformation of Bastar.
