Amit Shah to begin two-day Chhattisgarh visit today; security review and welfare projects on agenda

Jagadalpur, May 17: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah is arriving on a comprehensive two-day official tour of Chhattisgarh starting Monday, 18 May. The high-profile visit will feature a strategic blend of internal security reviews, infrastructure launches, tribal community engagements, and high-level governance summits across Raipur and Jagdalpur.
The Home Minister will commence his itinerary on Monday morning at 10:15 AM in the state capital, where he will flag off an upgraded fleet of ‘Dial 112’ emergency response vehicles at the Police Training School Parade Ground in Raipur. Immediately following the launch, Shah will fly to the Bastar region to inaugurate a newly established Jan Suvidha Kendra in Netanar at 11:45 AM, an initiative designed to bring essential digital public services directly to rural and tribal pockets.
The afternoon engagements on 18 May will transition to Jagdalpur, beginning at 1:00 PM with a wreath-laying ceremony at Amar Vatika to pay tribute to fallen security personnel. This will be followed by an extensive interaction session at 2:00 PM at the BADAL Academy in Jagdalpur.
During this dialogue, the Home Minister will interact directly with the families of martyrs, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel, state special forces, police officials, left-wing extremism (LWE) victims, and prominent representatives of local tribal societies to assess welfare and ground realities. The opening day will culminate at 6:30 PM at the same venue with ‘Bastar Ke Sang’, a folk cultural program celebrating the traditional art, music, and heritage of the region.
On the second day of his itinerary, 19 May, the Home Minister will chair a series of apex-level regional policy meetings and administrative governance reviews with senior security commanders and state officials in Jagdalpur to evaluate ongoing counter-insurgency operations and development projects in the red corridor.
