Raipur, June 13: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday felicitated young cricketer Mahak Narwase following her appointment as the vice-captain of the Indian Under-19 Women’s Cricket Team for the upcoming T20 and ODI tour of Sri Lanka.

The Rajnandgaon-based cricketer paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Minister at his official residence here, where he honoured her with a traditional shawl and a memento.

Terming her selection a matter of immense pride for Chhattisgarh, the Chief Minister said her success reflects the growing presence of the state’s daughters in sports at the national level. He added that her accomplishment, earned through discipline and dedication, would inspire youth across the state, especially young girls.

The Chief Minister assured that the state government remains committed to promoting sporting talent and upgrading infrastructure. He noted that Narwase’s appointment as vice-captain highlights the improving sports ecosystem in Chhattisgarh.

Expressing confidence in her future, the Chief Minister encouraged the young cricketer to continue striving for excellence and bring laurels to the country in the upcoming international fixtures. Narwase expressed her gratitude to the Chief Minister for the encouragement and support.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh, Raipur MP Brijmohan Agrawal, former Rajnandgaon Mayor Madhusudan Yadav, the cricketer’s father Radheshyam Narwase, and coach Manoj Tiwari were present on the occasion.
