Raipur, Aug 07: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday released ₹630.55 crore as the 30th instalment of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, transferring the financial assistance directly into the bank accounts of 67.20 lakh eligible women across the state via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Speaking at the Chief Minister’s Residence Office, Sai stated that the flagship scheme has become a major catalyst for women’s economic empowerment, dignity, and self-reliance since its launch on 1 March 2024. Total disbursements under the scheme have now crossed ₹19,444.33 crore.

“Beyond providing monthly financial aid of ₹1,000, the scheme is strengthening women’s confidence and decision-making roles in their families while supporting healthcare, education, and livelihood generation,” the Chief Minister said. He highlighted that beneficiaries are utilizing the funds for self-reliance projects like tailoring, dairy farming, and small enterprises, besides investing in schemes like Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana for their daughters.

Underlining the state’s commitment to good governance, Sai noted that direct transfers through DBT have eliminated intermediaries and ensured complete transparency in welfare delivery. Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwade, Principal Secretary Shahla Nigar, and Director Dr Renuka Shrivastava were present at the event.
