Jagdalpur/Raipur, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday announced a grant of ₹75 lakh for the construction of domes for the Dhurva community at five locations, with each dome costing ₹15 lakh. Speaking at the divisional-level Nuakhai festival of the Dhurva community in Jagdalpur, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the newly constructed “Olekh” community hall at the Forest School campus.
Sai said the state government is committed to the overall development of tribal communities. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Dharti Aba Gram Utkarsh Yojana,” which provides ₹80,000 crore for the development of tribal-dominated villages. The Chief Minister also spoke about the “Janman Yojana,” aimed at bringing Special Backward Tribes into the mainstream. He assured that development proposals submitted by 36 Sarpanches of the Dhurva community would be approved.
Paying homage to Maa Danteshwari and martyr Gundadhur, the Chief Minister said the Nuakhai festival reflects the rich culture of the tribal community. He noted that the newly inaugurated “Olekh” hall would serve as a hub for community activities. He also recalled the contribution of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who established the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma praised the Dhurva community for preserving its ancestral traditions. Other dignitaries present at the event included Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Bastar MP Mahesh Kashyap, Jagdalpur MLA Kiran Singh Deo, Chitrakote MLA Vinayak Goyal, and Dantewada MLA Chaitram Atami.
The event, which began with a welcome address by Divisional President Pappu Nag, was attended by various officials, including Bastar Commissioner Doman Singh, IG Sundarraj P, Collector Haris S, and SP Shalabh Sinha, along with a large number of Dhurva community members.
