Chhattisgarh government raises Scheduled Caste Development Authority budget to ₹75 crore
Raipur, (VW) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has announced a substantial increase in the budget for the Scheduled Caste Development Authority, raising it from ₹50 crore to ₹75 crore. The announcement was made during a review meeting in Janjgir-Champa district.
Chief Minister Sai directed all district collectors to ensure the timely and quality completion of approved projects. He also stated that authority meetings will now be held annually to review progress.
During the meeting, several key announcements were made for the community. Financial assistance for pilot training will be provided to five Scheduled Caste youths annually. An amount of ₹2 crore has been sanctioned for the development of Giraudhpuri Dham, a significant pilgrimage site. Additionally, ₹50 lakh has been approved for providing coaching facilities to students preparing for competitive examinations, with plans to construct “Nalanda Campuses” in all district headquarters to offer modern educational resources. Funds have also been approved for the use of wood in constructing Joda Jaitkhambh, and the capacity of the Tribal Youth Hostel in Delhi has been increased to 200 seats for students preparing for competitive exams.
The Chief Minister expressed displeasure over pending projects, emphasising their social importance. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao praised the initiative, highlighting the government’s commitment to uplifting the deprived sections of society. The meeting, attended by several officials and public representatives, approved development projects worth over ₹49 crore.
