Raipur, The Indian Air Force’s spectacular Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) is set to execute a dazzling air show over Nava Raipur on November 5, aiming to inspire the nation’s youth to join the armed forces. The much-anticipated main event, which features nine fighter jets performing high-precision synchronized flying, will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (IST), with a full-dress rehearsal scheduled for November 4.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, SKAT pilots—including Group Captain Ajay Dasarathi, Squadron Leaders Jasdeep Singh, Rahul Singh, Gaurav Patel, and Sanjesh Singh, and Flight Lieutenant Kanwal Sandhu, detailed the thrilling display. The team will fly nine advanced Hawk MK132 aircraft, painted in the striking red and white hues of the sun’s rays, to perform intricate manoeuvres demonstrating the unmatched skill and absolute trust within the Air Force.

Spectators can expect a sequence of heart-stopping stunts, including the iconic Bomb Burst, the perfect Arrow Head formation, and the visually stunning Heart in the Sky. The display will showcase dramatic transitions, with aircraft flying as low as 100 feet above the ground and soaring up to 10,000 feet.

Squadron Leader Rahul Singh emphasised the intensity of the preparation, stating, “Each pilot trains for six to eight months to perfect these manoeuvres. It’s a display of not only skill but also absolute trust and teamwork.”

The event holds a special significance for Squadron Leader Gaurav Patel, a native of Chhattisgarh, who expressed his excitement about performing for his home crowd. “Performing here is special, it’s like flying for my own people,” he said, sharing his journey in the hope of igniting similar aspirations among the state’s youth.

Flight Lieutenant Kanwal Sandhu, the team’s only female pilot, powerfully underlined the Air Force’s meritocratic structure. “Gender doesn’t matter once you wear the uniform,” she remarked. The team extended a warm invitation to all citizens, especially students, to witness the precision and glory of the Indian Air Force up close.
