Raipur, Feb 1: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday described the Union Budget 2026–27 as a historic document that charts the course for India’s golden and developed future. Highlighting that this was the first budget prepared at Kartavya Bhavan, he said the fiscal roadmap places national development and the welfare of every citizen at its core.
The Chief Minister noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman would prove to be a milestone for the upliftment of the poor, farmers, youth, and the middle class. He added that Chhattisgarh would directly benefit from several measures announced.
Sai lauded the allocation of ₹10,000 crore for the biopharma sector, stating it would significantly reduce the cost of medicines for cancer and diabetes. He welcomed the plan to establish emergency and trauma centres in every district and the setting up of five regional medical tourism hubs, which he believes will improve healthcare access in the state.
On the agricultural front, the Chief Minister said initiatives to enhance productivity through artificial intelligence and modern technology would provide new momentum to rural livelihoods. He also praised the expansion of the Lakhpati Didi scheme and the proposal to construct hostels for girls in every district as transformative steps for women’s empowerment.
Regarding infrastructure and industry, Shri Sai pointed to the announcement of seven high-speed rail corridors and a ₹40,000-crore investment under the Semiconductor Mission. He stated these moves, along with simplified income tax compliance and cheaper prices for mobiles and EV batteries, would provide direct relief to the general public.
