Industrial growth accelerating in Chhattisgarh due to robust infra, investor-friendly policies: CM Sai
Raipur, Aug 1: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday said Chhattisgarh is rapidly emerging as one of India’s most business-friendly states, driven by robust infrastructure and investor-centric policies.
Speaking at the inauguration of the three-day CG Tent and Decor Expo-2026 at a private convention centre in Labhandi, the Chief Minister highlighted that the state’s new industrial policy has received an encouraging response from investors across the country and abroad.
“The state government aims to create an ecosystem where industry, trade, and entrepreneurship flourish simultaneously, generating maximum employment and self-employment opportunities for the youth,” Sai said after inspecting various stalls at the exhibition and interacting with event industry representatives from across the nation.
Underscoring the economic contribution of the event and decor sector, the Chief Minister noted that the industry provides livelihoods to thousands of youth in both rural and urban areas. He specifically highlighted the role of women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ initiative, many of whom have adopted tent management and event services as a viable source of income.
Emphasising Chhattisgarh’s strategic central location, Sai added that the state government is continuously upgrading road, rail, and air connectivity to boost trade and logistics. He credited the central government for allocating record railway budgets for Chhattisgarh, accelerating several ongoing rail infrastructure projects in the region.
The three-day expo brings together manufacturers, suppliers, and industry experts from various states to showcase modern technology, digital management tools, and innovative event designs to local entrepreneurs.
