Raipur, Aug 13: The Chhattisgarh Industry Dialogue on Green Steel, organised by the state government in association with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), concluded here on Thursday with investment commitments worth ₹13,840 crore.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, who attended the event as the chief guest, said the projects are projected to generate 10,921 direct and indirect employment opportunities across the state.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister urged industrial leaders to focus on downstream and specialty steel manufacturing within Chhattisgarh, emphasizing that local value addition in auto components, engineering goods, railways, defence, and solar equipment will drive direct job creation.

Highlighting the global transition towards decarbonisation, Sai noted that Chhattisgarh is leading green steel adoption backed by its power surplus of over 26,000 MW and competitive industrial tariffs.

The event highlights a broader economic momentum in the state, which has secured nearly ₹8 lakh crore in investment proposals over the past 18 months under the Industrial Development Policy 2024-30 across AI, data centres, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and agro-processing.

Investor confidence has been further bolstered by the state’s Ease of Doing Business Act and its top rank among major states in Regulatory Ease in the CRISIL-NITI Aayog Investment Friendliness Index 2026. Industrial expansion is also moving beyond the traditional Raipur-Bhilai belt with four new industrial parks sanctioned in Rajnandgaon, Dhamtari, Janjgir-Champa, and Bastar districts.
